Men's Hair System Guide: Base and Fit
Share
Choosing a hair system becomes easier when you separate the decision into five parts: fit, base construction, density, color and maintenance. The right option is the one that works with your appearance, routine and experience level.
1. Start with accurate measurements
Measure the area you want the system to cover and note the front-to-back and side-to-side dimensions. If you are replacing an existing system, its base can provide a useful reference. Photos of your current hair and preferred result can also help our team understand the shape and coverage you need.
2. Choose a base for your routine
Thin skin
A smooth polyurethane base can sit close to the scalp and is often chosen for a natural-looking hairline and straightforward attachment. Thinner bases require more careful handling during removal and cleaning.
Lace
Lace is lightweight and breathable, making it a practical option for active routines and warmer conditions. Attachment and cleaning methods should be chosen with the lace construction in mind.
Mono
Mono constructions feel more structured and can be easier to handle. They are often considered by customers who place greater importance on durability than the finest possible front edge.
Hybrid
Hybrid systems combine materials in different areas of the base. This can balance breathability, attachment, appearance and handling.
3. Match density and hairstyle
Density should complement your age, remaining hair and intended hairstyle. More density is not automatically more natural. A clear front, side and back photo—or a reference hairstyle—can reduce misunderstandings before ordering.
4. Confirm color carefully
Screen colors and product photographs are useful guides, but lighting and display settings can change how a shade appears. Confirm the color code and grey percentage before ordering. When the match is especially important, a physical hair sample or color ring is more reliable.
5. Decide between ready-to-ship and custom
A ready-to-ship system may suit common specifications and shorter timelines. Custom work may be more appropriate when you need a particular base size, contour, density, color blend or construction. Availability and lead time should be confirmed before payment.
