Summer Care for Ultra-Thin Skin Hair Systems
Share
Warm weather can change how a hair system feels and how an attachment performs. A simple routine helps protect an ultra-thin skin base without making care complicated.
Start with a clean, dry surface
Before attachment, remove oil and residue from the scalp and base. Allow both surfaces to dry fully, and use only products that are compatible with your adhesive and base material.
After exercise or heavy perspiration
Blot moisture gently instead of rubbing the hair or base. Let the system cool and dry before brushing or restyling. If an edge begins to lift, clean and reattach that area rather than adding product over sweat or residue.
Wash with less friction
- Use cool or lukewarm water rather than very hot water.
- Distribute a mild shampoo gently through the hair; do not scrub the base.
- Rinse in the direction of the hair and pat dry with a towel.
- Keep heavy conditioner away from attachment areas unless the product instructions say otherwise.
Remove the system patiently
Use a remover that is compatible with your attachment method. Work gradually around the edge and never pull a bonded ultra-thin base away while it is dry. Clean residue without scraping or stretching the material.
Limit heat and inspect regularly
Use low heat when drying or styling, and avoid leaving the system in a hot car or in direct sun for long periods. Check the front edge, perimeter and base for residue or small changes before the next attachment.
